2018 Coaching Staff
Ashley is thrilled to be coaching the Barracudas again! As a 7 year Bridgeland resident, Ashley is excited to lead her home swim team this year. When she was younger, she swam for NWAL and USS club teams in the area, so she takes great pride in teaching the next generation and giving back to a sport that she’s so passionate about! Ashley is a former high school head swim coach and collegiate assistant coach. During her career, she has coached All-Americans, State Champions, and Olympians. She has also received Coach of the Year awards, developed workshops, presented at camps, and spoken at several conferences in the field of sport and performance psychology. Currently, she is a sport psychology consultant in private practice who works with athletes of all ages and ability levels all over the country. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas Tech University and a Master of Science in Sports Psychology from Florida State University. For 16 years, Ashley has worked with athletes and as a fellow athlete who is currently still competing, she understands the demands and pressures placed upon competitors, but also the need to have fun!
An Ironman finisher and ranked All World Athlete, she recognizes the power of motivating young athletes. Ashley uses her high energy and listens empathetically to counsel athletes of all ages. She truly believes it’s valuable to be able to connect to individuals of any level and build relationships through her teaching methods. She loves spreading knowledge, the summer league atmosphere, and educating young people on what we can learn from positive reinforcement in athletics and all the life lessons that can be gained from sports.
